J O U R N A L I S T I C
Most of my work is Journalistic in nature and is shot with whatever camera is at hand, from a Canon 7D, 60D or T2i to pocket point and shoots like the G9 and the LX5. I don't get too hysterical about grainy shots here and there. All the galleries should be linked up by end of this month...  Above: The Birth of Sylvie - NYC artist Lou Patrou Below: Far from the American Dream . . .
LONDON STREET ARTIST BANKSY IN NEW YORK: A slaughterhouse truck loaded with squealing animal puppets is one of the Banksy art pieces randomly appearing in different neighborhoods thru the end of October. This one was spotted in Union Square for about 15 minutes. The exhibit appears outside meat markets, meat stores etc. Here it is outside McDonalds. A seven foot tall Ronald McDonald is also shown with oversize shoes being polished by a real life 'shoe-shine' boy.
Some New Yorkers like to step out in their feathers and fur.
C L I C K
You know this guy has a big future ahead of him if all it takes is an optimistic outlook. The fact that New York was being buried in a blizzard is obviously not going to deter him from his next sale.
Flashback: Paul and Linda leave Carnegie Hall after the performance of Standing Stone.
It was a last minute thought to check the stage entrance after the show. I knew if I went home for my camera I'd miss him so I ducked into the store across the street and bought a disposable, and soon after, Paul and Linda emerged from the back of the Hall and into the limo.
What a great place to just hit the street with your camerea and start observing human behavior.
It's the big Hot Dog competition at Nathan's at Coney Island

Diane Sawyer
Paul at Lincoln Center
Hey, It's Charlie Rangel
Snapped a few of Diane Sawyer down at Ground Zero, all the networks were broadcasting on the anniversary of the attack.
It was 30 seconds of excitement and jostling as cameras and flashes met Paul's arrival at Lincoln Center for the premiere of Ocean's Kingdom.
Was covering the Philip Read street naming ceremony in Harlem and who was there but ever popular congressmen Charles Rangel mugging for the camera.
Spent a couple of hours on Wed covering the Occupy Wall Street protest, very high energy, obviously historic. Shot lots of stills and video and will be posting galleries early next week. The crowds were absolutely massive and just kept coming, very definite echoes of the 60s, the stage is set, where are the headline acts?
Once you enter through these doors you are captivated by the offerings inside and may find it hard to ever leave this place. There's wine and cheese, fresh fruits and veggies, a diverse variety of breads, desserts to die for, there's samon and clams and shrimp and crab cakes, and soups and sauces as well, there's antipasta and a myriad of deli delights, and coffee beans freshly ground, and nuts and grains, and sausages, steaks, salami, there's oils and dressings, and pies of all flavors, there's cookies and muffins and mini pizzas, and fresh cut flowers from heaven. It's the Grand Central Market and it's a sight to behold.
New York Moves
Traffic Maze
Head Turners
By boat, jet ski, skate board, rickshaw, bike, and by foot, New Yorkers are constantly on the move in all sorts of ways. On bike paths, running tracks, in parks and city streets, there is always a constant ever chnging scenery of movement.
I like shooting traffic, all sorts of traffic in all sorts of conditions ... from jams in the setting sun to gridlock in a blizzard. Adding a new gallery of those shots that kinda make you look twice.
Gotcha
It's The Naked Cowboy
Was on one of the subway escalators when I noticed this couple getting a little amorous. I quietly pulled out my LX5 and framed the shot, ans as I clicked, the girl opened her eyes, stared at me, as if to say.. Shoot this! The warm weather reveals all, namely all that ink that is mostly hidden all Winter, so get your cameras out and hit the street, you can see large scale masterpieces almost every few minutes in the right neighborhood. Each Summer New York City fills up with tourists. Here's a bunch of shots that are each related in some way to tourism.
Tourist For A Day
City For All Seasons
Summer in The City
How many sights can you squeeze into one day... Stay tuned, I am about to find out... New York has four distinct wonderful seasonal looks and it's kinda hard to pick a winner. Fall colors in Central Park, snowed out in Times Square, Summer on the water, and Spring all over.... Summer, long hot days at the beach, in the parks, on bikes, skates, boards and boats ...

Land of the Mohawks
Writing's on The Wall?
A short conversation with this guy may have answered some of the many questions that come to mind, more the longer you look at the shot... Have been encountering quite a few mohawks on the street lately so am in the process of building a gallery that will post soon There's no shortage on folks who seem to think they know the way... in time I guess we'll see...
WTC Archive
The Bubble Man
Bobby Knight
Am going thru the archive and pulling out some of the more unusual shots I have of the World Trade Center towers. Galleries posting soon... David Blaine was one of a few stories I came across while going thru the archives recently. It was 1984, courtside at The Olympics in Los Angeles, and Bobby Knight was about to give one of the officials an ear full...
Lieutenant Dan Choi
Fat Free
Endangered Species
Don't Ask Don't Tell activist Lieutenant Dan Choi posed for this quick pic on the first day of legal same sex marriage in New York. Dan was attending the wedding of Jeanette and Kawane from MCCNY and Rev Pat performed the ceremony.
In July I covered the Sandblast Festival at Asbury Park. This beach event is held each year and is a good opportunity for those with showcase bodies to strut their stuff. Now that smoking is banned in the greater outdoors in many city areas, it's become a photo op when you still come across someone lighting up. This guy was very happy to play along.
Dress Up Time
Bag man? No, Paper Man!
Willie Gee
Whether it's the Easter Parade, The Gay Pride Parade, or Halloween, there's always lots of folks who are happy to ham it up for the camera. I have run into this guy a few times now and finally decided to ask him to pose for a few quick snaps. Am working on some video projects with jazz musician Willie Gee. As well as performance pieces, we are shooting a PSA supporting creative arts programs in schools.
